University Hospitals of Derby & Burton will be holding an online course aimed at Registrars and SHOs that covers: Wrist Anatomy/Biomechanics/Imaging; Trauma; Arthritis - SNAC, SLAC, SCAC/Wrist OA/Rheumatoid Wrist/STT OA; Soft Tissue - clicking wrist, carpal instability, unstable DRUJ; Examination of Wrist Arthroscopy cases.
Learning Outcomes:
- For delegates to be able to learn about the pathways and decision-making tools that specialists in wrist pathology use clinically.
- For delegates to be able to describe elective and traumatic abnormalities without the use of the eponyms on plain radiographs of the wrist and understand some basic MRI findings.
- For delegates to be able to differentiate between wrist osteoarthritis (including SNAC, SLAC, SCAC); rheumatoid arthritis and scapho-trapezium/trapezoid osteoarthritis and for them to understand the role of the hand therapist when treating patients with arthritis.
- For delegates to identify signs and symptoms which are associated with significant soft tissue injuries in the wrist and when arthroscopy can be a useful adjunct.
