British Society for Surgery of the Hand Evidence for Surgical Treatment (BEST)
Our published BEST (NICE accredited) guidelines can be viewed via the links below:
BEST guideline development is mainly achieved by the voluntary contributions of Guideline Development Group members. Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the document, any funding for BEST guidelines is provided by the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH). As a registered charity, BSSH’s financial information is in the public domain. The BSSH is mainly funded through membership subscription and revenue from the Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume). Further details can be obtained from the Charity Commission website. The editorial content of BEST guidelines is not dependent on funding and the guideline development group work independently from the BSSH Research Committee and Council to develop guidance. Internal review is provided by BSSH Research Committee and Council members. Members of these groups are subject to processes for the management of conflicts of interest, full details of which may be provided by BSSH upon written request. The processes involve written and verbal declarations of conflicts of interest, the presence of which may preclude that individual from participating in the internal review.

The BEST guidelines are funded entirely by BSSH, unless otherwise described in an individual document. Details of BSSH's funding is available from: https://beta.charitycommission.gov.uk/charity-details/?regId=268396&subId=0
