CRPS Guidelines
The British Society for Surgery of the Hand contributed to the development of these guidelines
To help enhance understanding across a wide range of disciplines, a new CRPS guideline has been published by the Royal College of Physicians in partnership with 28 medical organisations.
This guideline concerns the diagnosis and management of patients with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). They provide recommendations for diagnosis, treatment and referral in a variety of clinical settings (primary care, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, surgical practice, rheumatology, neurology and neurosurgery, sport and exercise medicine (SEM), dermatology, pain medicine, rehabilitation medicine, emergency medicine and long-term care). Their purpose is to provide coherent guidance for professionals working in the different health specialties who care for these patients.
