Students and Trainees Association for Surgery of the Hand
The purpose of Students and Trainees Association for Surgery of the Hand (STASH) is to provide a specific committee and membership for students and trainees with interests in the surgery of the hand. The association’s purpose is to provide the opportunity for students and junior trainees to meet and share experiences, opinions, activities and opportunities to learn and develop their future careers within hand surgery as a specialty in its own right.
Since founding the organisation with support from the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, we have worked hard to bridge the gap in information regarding the training, fellowship experiences, opportunities, and mentorship available to those interested in a career within hand surgery, including the launch event in June 2022, a webinar series to follow, and in-person events which were requested by prospective members at our previous events. We are in constant communication with the Council of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, and receive sponsorship and support from them every quarter.
Committee meetings and conferences are usually organised by members of the committee prior to providing updates to the BSSH Council, with no formal leadership. We work hard to ensure representation reflects our members. If you would like to apply for membership, please complete our application form and a member of the secretariat will be in touch. As per BSSH policy, this will also require two supportive statements. We look forward to being in touch.
