Diploma Committee Members:
Mark Brewster
Chair - Hand Diploma and Masters Committee 2024-2026
Mark was appointed as a Hand surgeon to the Queen Elizabeth and Royal Orthopaedic Hospitals Birmingham in 2012 and has recently moved full time to the ROH to concentrate on his elective practice. He passed the Diploma in 2012 and soon after took up back-to-back roles working with the Diploma team. He jointly ran the Diploma Intro day, facilitated the on the day running of the exam, was a member on the committee and is now the Diploma Director.
Mark has a specialist interest in wrist surgeon and also the clinical lead for Small Joints in his trust. He is an enthusiastic teacher and has designed, run and lectured on numereous courses and will likely continue to do so for many years.

Internal Advisor and MSc Lead 2024 - 2026 (Previous Chair)
Helen was appointed at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire in 2012. She has enthusiastically worked to optimise hand trauma care pathways in Coventry, and has an elective interest in complex wrist conditions. She has served on the Diploma Committee since 2016 and was Diploma Director and Chair of the Diploma Committee from 2020 -2023.

Course Unit Lead for Module 1 (Basic Sciences)
Christina is a Congenital Hand, Upper Limb and Plastic Surgeon who works within a team of dedicated Hand Surgeons looking after children with a range of congenital hand and upper limb conditions including brachial plexus birth palsy, peripheral nerve trauma and tumours, spasticity and all types of congenital and acquired hand and upper limb conditions.
Christina is passionate about teaching in a variety of settings and is a Diploma Tutor. Christina has been appointed as the Deputy Diploma Director and will become the Diploma Director in 2026.
