This year BSSH was proud to announce the post-COVID return of the ICHS Masterclass Cadaveric Course.
On 15th June, an expert international faculty convened in the Manchester Surgical Skills Centre for an enjoyable day of teaching focused on treatment of pathology around the PIPJ. The stations included were: silicone and CapFlex arthroplasty, PIPJ fusion techniques, ligamentotaxor and dynamic external fixation, hemihamate reconstruction, intraarticular fracture malunion treatment and plastic surgical soft tissue coverage options. The course was enthusiastically supported by industry who generously provided financial backing as well as supplying equipment.
The course was entirely hands on this year thus affording delegates the maximum time possible to practice these techniques with our expert faculty: Praveen Bhardwaj (Ganga Hospital), Gráinne Bourke (Leeds), Graham Cheung (Liverpool), Alistair Hunter (London), Jane McEachan (Fife), Anuj Mishra (Manchester), Zaf Naqui (Manchester), Mark Pickford (London), Nico Schwalfenberg (Bonn), and Fred Schreuder (Swansea).
Delegate and faculty feedback from the day was extremely positive following the change to an entirely practical course and we look forward to hosting this course again next year.
