Getting involved in overseas work

The BSSH Overseas Trainee Committee are delighted to present the first in our series of virtual interviews with Consultant Hand Surgeons who are sharing their experiences and provide advise to trainees interested in pursuing overseas work.
Mr Lorenzo Garagnani is a consultant hand and wrist surgeon and the joint Lead of the Hand Unit at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London. He is also honorary Reader at the faculty of life sciences and medicine at King's College London and Guy's and St Thomas' Trust Lead of undergraduate medical education in Orthopaedics.
As a specialist hand and wrist surgeon, he has worked in a number of different institutions both in the UK and in Italy including his role as joint lead of the children's congenital upper limb and hand anomalies service at the Policlinico di Modena University Hospital (Modena, Italy).
